Become a Volunteer 
Transport

Purpose: Provide transport for foster dogs to/from permanent or foster homes, or other destinations as needed.
Responsibilities: Transports dogs safely and completes appropriate paperwork for each dog transported. 
Time commitment: Based upon availability of the volunteer. Transport can take as little as 2-4 hours or long enough to require overnight travel.

Home Visits

Purpose: To conduct a home visit of potential adopters and/or foster homes to insure a safe and loving environment for the placement of a Giant Schnauzer. 
Responsibilities: Arrange to visit the home of a potential adopter or foster home. Meet the person/family interested in the potential adoption/foster; answer any questions they might have regarding adoption/foster; evaluate the environment for proper placement. 
Time commitment: As needed basis. The evaluation meeting will generally be less than one hour. Area covered to be determined.

Foster Homes

Purpose: Provides a temporary home to Giants that are waiting to be adopted. 
Responsibilities: Provides a safe environment (both indoor and outdoor). Evaluates the foster Giant's temperament and behaviors. Evaluates for compatibility with an adoptive party including children and/or other pets in the home. Provide for basic health care and other daily needs of the Giant. Costs of vet care will be covered by the rescue.
Time commitment: Based upon availability of the foster home volunteer. Need for foster homes vary, depending on number and timing of incoming dogs.
