HT-Z LOSES A DEAR FRIEND
In Memoriam

Dear Friends,

I want to thank all of you for your prayers, and kind words at the passing of my Mum. I can't believe it's been over a week since her funeral. My Mum turned 90 this past July. She and I were very close and I miss her so very much. Having the Cafe has really helped these past days. I have much to do before I return to NH and my home. But staying here in NJ at my Mum's house where I was brought up and lived for many years also helps. I will be selling this old beautiful home of 61 years in the coming months. It will take time to go thru all my Mum's things---something I need to do slowly and carefully as it will be painful.

I must tell you all of how wonderful my Maggie Grrrrllllll was. I was allowed to bring her to my Mum's wake (I think everyone at the funural home felt bad for me as I'm an only child). As you all know Giants tend to be "on guard" around strangers. Not this day. Maggie was an absolute angel! As I greeted people, she sat by by side and gave her paw to just about everyone. Each time I went to my Mum's casket, Maggie would lie quietly next to me and look up at me with those soulful brown eyes as only a Giant can. She was a credit to all Giants. During the eulogy when Father Owen told how much my Mum loved dogs, Maggie rolled over on her back and wiggled her paws. Everyone laughed as Fr. Owen said, "I think Maggie wants a belly rub!"

Mum and Dad, just after they were married, 1939. Needless to say I wasn't around at the time to take this picture! But I want you all to see my beautiful Mum and my handsome Dad. I was so very, very lucky to have such fantastic parents.
